My mom is strict. She%26039;s a bit mean sometimes. I%26039;ve mentioned Call of Duty to her and she said it%26039;s really bad and has lotta killing. It%26039;s a rated M game. I%26039;m under 17. My friends have this game and NONE of them are psycho maniacs. She watches the news alot and hears stories of under-age kids going insane with war and killing other people because they have war games. I can be honest that this%26039;ll never happen to me. My mom won%26039;t even RENT me a %26quot;Medal%26039;s of Honour%26quot; (rated T) video game. She thinks if I play these kind of games I%26039;ll get affected and my attitude will change. She found out I was watching CoD videos on YouTube (YT) but I didn%26039;t get affected at all. I have excellent grades at school, and I%26039;m well educated. I have played CoD:MW at my friends house, and it wasn%26039;t gory. Some blood there and here but fine. The characters barely swear and I didn%26039;t get affected. I know my dad will MAYBE get it for me, but I wanna play it when I can, not hiding it in places. Someone please help, I really like this game, and I wanna convince her without getting her mad. Hey, My parents are like this too, so i help i can help-

First off, say you%26039;ll pay with your own money.

When she say%26039;s the game is bad, say i am mature enough and i think i can handle it, admit you played it at your friends house, and say it didn%26039;t affect me at all. and if it did you would have noticed.

The next step is too say that you%26039;re friends have it and try to get her too talk to a friend%26039;s parent(a friend who owns the game) but make sure it%26039;s a cool kind of layed back parent who will say it%26039;s okay.

This step is optional- but will help- show her some youtube videos of the gameplay and let her look at the videos by herself to see if their approriate or not. (hint here is to not be with her when she watches them)

Next step, convince her to let you rent it, and then she will see the gameplay for herself, this will be very tricky if she thought the gameplay was innapropriate, but is still possible. I am almost positive you can fiddle with the game%26039;s options and turn off strict language.

If she thought gameplay was appropriate, buy it, but stay to your word and buy it with your own money, she will think your even more mature this way.

I think over controlling parents are hurting their kids more than helping them.
